DCS Scullers Overcome Strong Winds at President’s Cup Regatta

March came in like a lion for DSC rowers at the President’s Cup Regatta at Lake Natoma, March 1st. Despite strong cross winds, they wore 4 gold medals, one silver and a bronze after the three 1 km races in which they competed.

Kim and Jean took first by 3 seconds in the Women’s Masters doubles race, and Rachel and Renaldo were tops in the Mixed Masters doubles race as para-2 competitors, finishing ahead of para-1 scullers Kia & Rebecca and Gaby & Carmen. All double sculls faced stiff winds, challenging them to stay in their lanes on the race course.

Our Women’s Masters Quad (Carmen, Jeanine, Sara and Kim), racing for the first time together, finished with a solid time of 4:17.7 minutes. It was Jeanine’s and Sara’s first rowing race ever!

March as well as DSC’s scullers came in like lions at the President’s Cup.
