As President of Delta Sculling Center’s Board, Beverly “Bev” Klunk embodies the spirit of community, leadership, and service. A retired trust officer with 35 years of experience, Bev’s journey into rowing began as a personal pursuit, seeking outdoor activity and connection to water. Her discovery of sculling led her to Delta Sculling Center (DSC), where she was captivated by its inclusive and mission-driven environment.
For Bev, the camaraderie and shared experiences on the water were just the beginning. She immediately saw the potential of DSC to transform lives, particularly through the adaptive program and various other engagement efforts designed to place rowing machines in local schools. These initiatives, driven by DSC founders Dr. Pat Tirone PT, DPT, Ed.D, and Dr. Bob Oprandy EdD, deeply resonated with her commitment to serving the community.
Bev is a self-proclaimed servant leader. Her mantra, “working for sustainability,” reflects her dedication to ensuring that DSC not only thrives today but continues to serve Stockton’s diverse populations for years to come. Whether it’s empowering youth, veterans, or adaptive rowers, Bev is committed to broadening the reach of DSC.
In her role as Board President, Bev brings critical skills from her professional background, where she honed her ability to manage multiple projects and oversee complex financial structures. Her experience helps guide DSC’s strategic growth, balancing the need for expansion with the practicalities of maintaining a sustainable organization. She is inspired by DSC’s remarkable volunteer base, whose dedication allows the organization to continually evolve and support Stockton’s future generations.
Her advice to those interested in joining DSC? “Come on out and see what it’s all about. If it resonates with you, there’s a place for you here, and we’ll help you find it.”
Bev Klunk’s leadership and unwavering commitment to the Delta Sculling Center exemplify the best of what community service can achieve. Through her work, she ensures that DSC continues to be a transformative force, empowering individuals, and fostering a culture of inclusion, resilience, and teamwork.
