Jessica Andersen is the Youth Program Manager and Youth Head Coach at Delta Sculling Center, where she is dedicated to providing middle and high school students with the opportunity to experience the benefits of sculling, both on and off the water. With over 20 years of experience working with youth and teaching swimming throughout the Bay Area, she has a deep passion for youth development and believes in the power of sports to build confidence, discipline, and teamwork.
After making the decision to switch careers, Jessica discovered Delta Sculling Center and was immediately drawn to its mission of inclusivity and making rowing accessible for all. As her knowledge of the sport grew, so did her commitment to expanding DSC’s youth programs and ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent any child from participating. She has continued her own coaching development and recently earned her Level 2 coaching certification through USRowing.
At DSC, Jessica oversees junior programs, organizes community outreach efforts, and helps young athletes grow in both skill and character. She finds joy in watching students develop a love for rowing, whether they’re just getting started or training to compete at higher levels.
Outside of rowing, Jessica is a proud mom to three young boys who keep her on her toes with their love for soccer and baseball. She enjoys spending time with her family, cheering them on from the sidelines, exploring the Delta, and finding new ways to bring the joy of rowing to more youth. She is excited to continue growing DSC’s programs and inspiring the next generation of rowers.
