Kim Sparrowk is a Masters sculling coach and a dedicated member of the Board of Directors at Delta Sculling Center (DSC). Since joining DSC in 2017, Kim has been deeply involved in both the coaching and organizational aspects of the center, helping to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for rowers of any age or ability level. She has coached Youth, Novice, and Masters rowers, sharing her expertise and passion for the sport with athletes at every stage of their sculling journey.
A strong competitor herself, Kim thrives on the challenges of racing in a variety of sculling events. However, what truly drives her is the sense of community that DSC cultivates. She believes that the center’s greatest strength is its ability to bring people together, creating a supportive network that extends beyond the water. Whether coaching, competing, or leading through her role on the board, Kim is committed to strengthening the bonds that make DSC more than just a place to row—it is a place to belong.
Kim’s deep-rooted connection to agriculture stems from her background in cattle ranching. She spent countless hours on horseback caring for cattle and managing the ranch’s cow-calf and yearling operations, all while actively participating in team roping events. Her leadership extended beyond the ranch, serving as the Budget and Audit Chair for the California CattleWomen’s Association. Later, she embraced the role of “Rodeo Mom” for her son, serving as treasurer for both the NorCal Junior Rodeo Association and California High School Rodeo Association District 5. While she no longer ranches, Kim still enjoys “cowboy” work and trail riding with friends, keeping her love of the Western lifestyle alive.
Off the water, Kim has built a rewarding and successful career in the financial sector. She previously served as a branch manager at F&M Bank in Linden, CA, where she honed her leadership and management skills. Currently, she works as a controller at Ag West, where she feels truly valued—trusted, respected, and embraced as part of a family-oriented team. In addition to her professional and athletic pursuits, Kim remains engaged in her community, currently serving as the treasurer for the Linden Friends of the Library.
Through her leadership, coaching, and personal dedication, Kim continues to play an integral role in shaping the culture of DSC, ensuring it remains a place where athletes and community members alike feel supported, empowered, and part of something bigger than themselves. Her guiding purpose is to “share the light,” inspiring those around her to find joy, support, and connection through sculling and community.
