ROWfest

More than 30 community visitors helped the DSC boathouse come alive during its first ROWfest on April 24th. All were actively engaged at stations, including a spin wheel of environmental questions, DSC information and impact tables, a print art activity hosted by Tuleburg Press, a sticker art activity, a photo-in-a-boat station, a boathouse tour and show-and-tell by Rachel Tappero about adaptive rowing, and a booth where Trust for Public Land employee Alex Lima explained plans initiated by DSC in 2019 for a future Delta Aquatic Center of Stockton.

The highlight of ROWfest was a highly aerobic relay competition among four teams of willing visitors plus DSC adult and junior scullers, who took turns compiling approximately 8,000 meters during the 8-minute event. Exhausted but energized by the relay and other activities, all had a great time at DSC’s first ROWfest.
